Printmaking has seen a huge revival recently, with growing demand for something individual that doesn’t mean splashing out on a major piece of art. Whether screen print, giclée, letterpress or lithograph – there’s huge variety of crafty methods and stylish, affordable prints out there, with something for us all to admire.

One for the stationery-enthusiasts, this vibrant image of a pen pot is great for brightening up a dull study space or uninspired corner of the bedroom. Reduced to basic shapes, the pens seem larger than life, bursting out of their circular pot. The 50x70cm print comes on heavy uncoated paper.

Inspirational quotes aren’t just for Instagram. The famous phrase by 19th-century textile designer and craftsman extraordinaire William Morris still rings true today, and Typoretum’s beautiful treatment of it on this 52x65cm letterpress print presents a great way to bring the mantra into your home. The limited edition of 100 is printed on 250gsm cotton paper using an antique press.

London-based illustrator Alessandro Monaco’s A3 size print is created by glicée – a fine art method of inkjet printing. In an abstract composition, bold rectangles and circles are filled with patterns inspired by terrazzo floors. In a limited edition of just 10, it’s the most exclusive pick on our list. Get it framed for an extra £30.

Each print in the HAM range sees a cheeky rabbit involved in a leisure activity: from parachuting and trampolining to playing croquet or enjoying a glass of wine. Reduced to a monochrome silhouette, the characterful rabbit in these comical prints won’t fail to make you smile. Each is handmade in London by creator Jo Ham.

This ode to Basterfield House, a modernist housing estate in central London, is one of several prints by Stefi Orazi that paint London’s architectural icons in a heroic light. Pared back to a set of lines and a strict palette of vivid colours, Orazi’s minimal A2 size print gives just enough information away without revealing the whole picture. In a limited edition of 100.

Well don’t we all? This cheerful print by eco-friendly print masters Seventy Tree is based on an original pen and ink drawing, giving the words their quirky hand-drawn character. The 50x70cm design is printed on thick 170gsm FSC-certified paper with a vegetable ink that holds its colour longer.

Lane by Post’s screen print is a real labour of British love. The minimal landscape is inspired by the Scottish Isles, the 50x70cm print is hand-pulled by craftsmen in Nottingham, and the paper is produced by one of the last remaining speciality makers in the Lake District.

Designer Dee Beale’s folk-inspired prints are made from paper cuts, giving shapes definition and detail. This charming A4 giclée print of a dark-brown dove on a nest of yellow leaves is signed and printed on heavy, acid-free matte paper. Her romantic range includes images of kissing hares, flowers and hearts.

At A4, this print is a little smaller than the others, but the beautiful colours and thick 300gsm paper ensure it has a brilliant impact. Designer and printmaker Paul Farrell layers four colours of ink and hand-pulls each print. Each in this edition of 50 is numbered, titled and signed.

French illustrator and printmaker HelloMarine has a knack for making us look twice at everyday details. A variety of cacti are reduced to black silhouettes and fine lines that give them character and detail. This smart 40x50cm signed giclée print would look great framed on a bookshelf, accompained by plants and books.

Best for bringing instant cheer to a dull wall or bookshelf is Present & Correct’s Pen Pot, with bright colours and fun shapes that make for a lighthearted approach to wall art. For something that shows a true appreciation for the tradition of print-making, you can’t beat Typoretum’s letterpress Morris quote, beautiful and timeless.
