Thermal Lamination films Market : Growth, Demand and Key Players to 2028

Thermal lamination films are decorative films, which are extrusion coated with thermal adhesives. These films, when heated, melts the adhesives & sticks to the printed paper surface. Generally, thermal lamination films are of three main types that are biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) based thermal lamination film, biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate based thermal lamination film (BOPET) and biaxially oriented nylon-6 based thermal lamination film (BOPA). The adhesives that are used to coat these films are hot-melt adhesives, such as LDPE or EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), polyolefin resin and others. Thermal lamination films offer good UV resistance, high tensile & bond strength and scratch resistance. It provides decorative finishes such as gloss & matte along with specialized finishes. Thermal lamination films are extensively used to laminate soft book covers, presenting cards, magazine covers, photo album, notebook covers, poster, packaging, gift bags and others. Thermal lamination films’ thickness ranges from 20 microns to 250 microns. Thermal laminating films are used for packaging in food and beverages. The demand for these films are expected to ...

When you buy something using the retail links in our stories, we may earn a small

When you buy something using the retail links in our stories, we may earn a small commission. Outside does not accept money for editorial gear reviews. Read more about our policy. My favorite tool is an iPhone, because I can use it to call a lawn guy or a plumber. So when my editor asked if I’d write about bike security and today’s best bike locks by learning how to steal a bike, I told her to consider someone else. Turns out, I misspoke. Anyone—even this monkey—can swipe a bike. I learned that the real goal is to discourage someone from stealing your bike. In these prolific bike-thieving times, it’s every rider for himself. “You know the old joke: How fast must you be to run away from a bear? Faster than your slowest friend,” says Nick Watkins, general manager for Kryptonite, a longtime leader in the bike lock business. “Same sort of idea with bike locks.” Cops, bike-theft experts, and fellow industry insiders all agree with Watkins, who has been with Kryptonite for 15 years. But wisecracking though he may be, Watkins isn’t being cynical or disloyal to his brand. Kryptonite, which has been in business for nearly half a century, produces arguably some of the most robust locks av...

Yangon plans logistics hub, truck terminal to ease congestion

Yangon is planning to build a logistics hub and truck terminal in the outskirts of the city to ease traffic congestion and provide enough parking space for trucks, said Yangon Region Planning and Finance Minister U Myint Thaung at the regional parliament. He was responding to U Kyaw Min Han, MP from Latha township, who asked if there any plans to implement a project to improve efficiencies and productivity in the logistics industry. Currently, companies transport goods by 22-wheel, 12-wheel and 6-wheel trucks from factories directly to respective townships.  However, others move the goods to a depot at Bayintnaung Highway bus terminal in Mayangone township before they are loaded onto trucks and ferried to their intended destinations. This has led to heavy traffic congestion near the terminal, which is no longer big enough to accommodate the rising number of trucks. “The regional government and Myanmar Highway Freight Transportation Service Association have discussed how to solve this issue and we are planning to reduce the number of trucks entering and exiting the downtown area and building a logistics hub that includes a new truck terminal outside Yangon city,” said U Myint Th...

Police bodycam automatically records when gunshot detected

DALLAS, Tex. – The last thing a police supervisor wants to hear after an officer-involved shooting is “there is no camera footage,” Jason Dombkowski said at a recent demonstration of Utility Associates’ BodyWorn camera gunshot detection system. As a former police chief in West Lafayette, Indiana, Dombkowski knows how failing to capture bodycam footage of use of force can be problematic for law enforcement agencies. There are many legitimate reasons why an officer might fail to activate a bodycam during a high-stress event, but in the current environment where the public expects police transparency, citizens are likely to jump to misguided conclusions that an agency has something to hide if an officer did not activate his or her bodycam. Police officers may even be reprimanded for not hitting “record,” notwithstanding that they may have been in a life-and-death situation where activating their bodycam was not an immediate concern. Utility Associates views this not as an officer problem, but a technology problem. The company believes automated recording is the solution. At the demo, the Utility team advanced its concept of “the connected officer” – an ecosystem of devices a...

The latest OPPO K-series phone will have a 64MP camera sensor

Considering that OnePlus has dominated the mobile-device stage today (September 26, 2019) with the launch of its 7T, it is quite an odd time OPPO has chosen to introduce its first 64MP camera phone. Nevertheless, this is what the OEM has done: the new K5 will be released on October 10. Its advanced imaging specs are joined by a decent 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch. This notch houses a 32MP camera, whereas the rear configuration will be 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP in total. The K5 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor. These are specs that may sound familiar to those who also follow the new Realme 64MP phone, a variant of which may have virtually the same attributes. The K5 already features on the online sales sites Jingdong and Tmall, both of which have placeholder pages for the new phone. They indicate that this upcoming OPPO mid-ranger has only 1 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant; however, it is believed that there may be others in the future. Neither sales listing has credible price information, although it’s possible it could go for about US$280 on launch. Needle Ball Bearing, Needle Bearing Inner Ring, Needle Cag...

What If We Belched Less CO2 Into The Atmosphere By Stashing It Under Kansas?

WICHITA, Kansas — Large industrial operations — think electrical power plants, oil refineries, ethanol facilities —cough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by the ton. That, in turn, warms the planet. But now some researchers think Kansas could be a good place to pump the gas underground rather than up in the air. Carbon dioxide is all around us. Plants use it for food. Humans exhale it. It’s used in dry ice and to make your soda fizzy. But it’s produced in serious, problematic quantities when we burn fossil fuels — every time we jump in a car and to generate the majority of the electricity we use. When we do that, we’re taking carbon that was once stored in the ground and putting it into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, or CO2. CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases help trap heat in the atmosphere. Climate scientists predict that if we keep producing them at current rates, annual average global temperatures will rise by nine degrees by the end of this century. Weather patterns will become ever more severe, the oceans will rise. To prevent some of the catastrophes that would cause, researchers want to stash CO2 emissions back in the ground. With funding from the U.S. Depar...

More on Wiretapping ATM Skimmers — Krebs on Security

YPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”> Last month, this blog featured a story about an innovation in ATM skimming known as wiretapping, which I said involves a “tiny” hole cut in the ATM’s front through which thieves insert devices capable of eavesdropping on and recording the ATM user’s card data. Turns out, the holes the crooks make to insert their gear tend to be anything but tiny. Not long after that post went live, I heard from the folks at NCR, one of the world’s largest cash machine manufacturers. NCR had put out a bulletin on the emergence of this very threat in Sept. 2014, saying the activity had first been spotted in the United Kingdom against NCR 5877 and 5887 models. As I noted in my original story, the attackers use a plastic decal to cover up the hole, but NCR’s photos of one ATM compromised by this method offer a better look at what’s going on here. Take a look at the size of that hole: A hole left by crooks who added “wiretapping” or “eavesdropping” theft devices to a compromised ATM. Landscaping Techniques To Cut Home Energy Use | Earth911.com Landscaping Techniques To Cut Home Energy Use

Nearly half of all home energy use is for heating and cooling. Nationally, this adds up to a lot of energy! Many of us already do things to save energy, like keeping the thermostat down and sealing gaps and cracks in the home envelope, but what else can be done? One helpful tactic is to look to the yard for landscaping techniques that save energy. This approach to landscaping involves creating shade when you don’t want the heat of the sun and preventing heat loss in cold weather. Strategically placed vines, trees, and bushes can serve as a windbreak in cold weather or provide shade during the cooling season. Landscaping for energy efficiency is a great long-term investment that also beautifies your property. It is important to start by considering your climate. There are four climate zones in the United States: temperate, hot-arid, hot-humid, and cool. Begin by identifying your climate zone on the Department of Energy website as this will set the foundation for your landscaping strategy. If you live in a warm climate and crank the air conditioning more than the heat, dedicate your efforts to keeping your home cool. If you live in a colder climate and run the heat for much of th...

Plastic Ban: Cigarette Butts Among 12 Plastic Items That Could Be Banned By Centre

The central government, which has waged a war on single-use plastic, is planning to impose a ban on 12 items, including small plastic bottles used for beverages, thermocol (polystyrene) used for decoration and cigarette butts. The central government has expressed its intention to completely ban single-use plastic but has not come up with a timeline to enforce it. On Thursday, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan told NDTV that it will be banned in a phased manner. The government has compiled a list of items which will be presented to the Central Pollution Control Board for banning.. The list includes: Thin carry bags (less than 50 microns), non-woven carry bags, small wrapping/packing films; straws and stirrers; cutlery: foamed cups, bowls and plates; laminated bows and plates; small plastic cups and containers (less than 150 ml and 5 grams); plastic sticks for ear buds, balloons, flags and candies; cigarette butts; expanded polystyrene; small plastics for beverages (less than 200 ml) and roadside banners (less than 100 microns). The country’s top anti-pollution body is preparing a road map for India to completely eliminate single-use plastic– which is harmful for environ...

IN “THE FAREWELL,” a recently released film about multiple generations of a Chinese family, an elderly

IN “THE FAREWELL,” a recently released film about multiple generations of a Chinese family, an elderly character named Mr. Li shuffles around his apartment wearing a cropped, abundantly pocketed fishing vest over a polo shirt and khakis. The Saturday afternoon I saw the movie in Brooklyn, I wore a nearly identical vest over my T-shirt. Mr. Li is on-screen for maybe five minutes total so we never learn what, if anything, he’s got stuffed in those pockets, but I’d like to believe that he and I could bond over the practicality… Ghillie Suit, Camouflage Clothing, Gloves, Cap, Bag, Backpack, Tent – Demarui,https://www.demarui.com/
